DACHSER flies 100th charter of the year

In early December, DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics organized its 100th charter flight of the year. The cargo aircraft served the Frankfurt–Shanghai route as part of DACHSER’s dedicated charter program, through which the logistics provider offers capacity specifically on the most important air routes between Asia, Europe, and the US.

In response to the air freight capacity bottlenecks caused by Covid-19, DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics had already drawn up a charter contingency plan in February. Initially, the charter program comprised the Frankfurt–China routes, but at the end of July DACHSER then expanded the premium flight service to include the weekly Frankfurt–Chicago route. This is how the company is compensating for the decline in air freight capacity, which has shrunk greatly due to both the global pandemic and the almost complete suspension of passenger flights.

“With our integrated and robust network capability and our team of highly motivated and dedicated employees, we’ve been able to offer our customers intelligent and innovative transport solutions for months now,” says Timo Stroh, Head of Global Air Freight at DACHSER. “At a time when our world is being shaken to its foundations and the systemic relevance of logistics has become clearer than ever, we took action early on to develop tailored solutions for our customers.”

Integrated transport solution from a single source

Through its tightly knit overland transport network, DACHSER distributes the goods from Frankfurt throughout Europe with fixed transit times and quality standards. Customers benefit from an integrated transport solution that is provided by a single source and covers the whole chain from sender to recipient. DACHSER’s charter program ensures that capacity is provided reliably, regardless of volatile market developments.
